The Centre was established in the year 1970 to conduct skiing and other adventure sports. The Centre has two hostels with accommodation capacity for 110 trainees. In addition, there is an equipment store, a ration store, a kitchen, a dining hall, an office, a guest house and a mountain hut. The Centre is run/ headed by a Mountaineering Instructor.
